I have an N reg renault clio which i am trying to get on the road ASAP. the car has an alarm and an immobiliser fitted. the battery needed changing so i have done that and the car started fine, but the alarm will not switch off, although using the key fob it does switch off the lights from flashing but the siren doesnt stop. if i disconnect the alarm from the battery the car wont start due to the immobiliser. what has caused this? could it be the battery being disconnected? any advice on how to stop it? thanks! Its a 1400cc N reg renault clio, 3 door.

you ecu is confused check to see if you have a bonnet alarm switch by the front catch small black switch could be out of position, then disconnect car battery for half an hour car will (sleep) reconnect, start car run for 5 ,turn off, lock with blip ,un lock ,start ,should do it

First make sure your fob battery is good if not sure fit new one.

with ign off press and hold the door locking button for more than 5 seconds.

then within 10-15 seconds press the lock/unlock button twice.

on some models you only need to press this once.

hope this works for you

perhaps see if you can contact renault... or a dealer, they will know how to sort it

also if its a mk2 clio , make sure you get the bonet catch done, don't know if you saw watchdog.. they pop up on ppl when people are driving =/
